Wedding FAQs

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?  

I am a reportage photographer who loves to tell your story. My photography style is natural, but at times I find that a little direction such as lights, expression, and pose can help to get the best results. It’s all about finding the right narrative and I believe that telling the right story is of fundamental importance.

DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?

Absolutely! I have both professional indemnity and public liability insurance and always carry back up equipment to each wedding.

WHICH AREAS DO I COVER?  

I am based in Newtown, Mid Wales and work all around the surrounding area. I am also happy to travel across the UK and even abroad if required which I love as I get to experience new places and witness even more beautiful weddings. My wedding package includes travel costs within 50 miles of SY16 1HG. If required, we will agree suitable travel and accommodation costs separately for your wedding package.

HOW DO YOU BOOK ME?

I always like to meet the couple and get to know each other. I’d love to hear your story, how you met, the proposal, your chosen venue, all the details you have in your mind; these all help me to build up a picture of the day you are planning and how to best capture it.  Between you and me, I secretly I think I would love to be a wedding planner – I just LOVE weddings and could seriously talk about weddings for hours!! During our meeting, I will also show you examples of my work and sample albums from previous weddings. If you do make the decision to book me, all I ask for is a signed contract and a non-refundable deposit fee of £200, which can be paid by bank transfer or cheque. Once received your date will firmly be in my diary!  The remaining balance will be due one month before your wedding date. 


DO YOU ISSUE A CONTRACT?

Yes, I have a contract that we will both sign via an online system when booking. This gives both parties complete transparency and confirmation of the package you have chosen.

CAN WE HAVE COPYRIGHT OF THE PHOTOGRAPHS?

I always retain the copyright to my images but will grant you a lifetime usage license, which is what you need to print and share your photographs.

DO YOU TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS DURING THE CEREMONY?

I will always aim to take photographs during the vows, but am also respectful of the marriage ceremony. I will adhere to all rules and regulations of individuals and institutions even if this means limited images during the ceremony.

WHAT ARE HIGH RESOLUTION IMAGES?

High other known as print resolution images are large files which contain a lot of detail that can be used for all sized prints. These are best for printing individual photographs, producing photo books, creating albums and also to frame large prints for the wall.  They will be large files and not easy to share with friends and family via email or social media.  

CAN WE MAKE CHANGES TO OUR ALBUM DESIGN?  

Of course, once you choose your favourite images that you would like in your album, i begin the design process and keep you informed. Once created i will email an online proof of your album and at this time you can advise of any changes you would like. The album design process includes 2 rounds of design changes in the prices quoted. Additional rounds are charge at £50.

SHOULD WE BOOK AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION?

The best reason for an engagement session is that is it a great opportunity to work together before your wedding and for you to get comfortable in front of the lens as a couple and experience my style.  Some couples really want to feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera, to have fun and create those wonderful pictures you have dreamed of.  

I always suggest you choose a location that is special to you, a favourite place or simply a great outdoor location where we can wander and have fun!

The imagery is always different to your wedding day and some couples have used their engagement images for wedding stationery, guest books, signing boards or even just nice photos around your home.


“BUT I DON’T LIKE TO HAVE MY PHOTOGRAPH TAKEN…”

A lot of my couples are self-conscious at first. Even I don’t like to have my photo taken!

I promise that once we have got to know each other and I know your story, and get to know you, you will enjoy it. You may not believe me yet, but it’s true! My favourite photos, those beautiful and natural shots of a couple are always the result of teamwork, so by working together I am sure that I can capture your perfect images. Once you become more comfortable and relaxed, you won’t even know that I am there.

An engagement session is a great way to feel comfortable in front of the camera so that on your wedding day you will have fun!

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY IMAGES?

As soon as the wedding day is over, my editing process begins. You may be jetting off on your honeymoon or simply start getting accustomed to married life; I start working away to make sure that the finished products you receive are completely perfect. I am to deliver your images within 4-6 weeks as agreed in your contract.

HOW LONG WILL YOU STORE MY WEDDING IMAGES IN DIGITAL FORMAT?

Leri Lane Photography will archive and store your images for 3 years. Once you have your wedding package I will advise the best method for safe keeping of your images.
